Fine Art Photography

BIOGRAPHY
Lloyd first started his career as a technical illustrator and industrial photographer. This often involved a good balance between many disciplines including graphic design, Illustrating (using pen and ink) to produce cutaway, diagrammatic, and exploded views and photographing equipment in assembled and disassembled stages. Operating a process camera in the creation of artwork and working in various formats from quarter plate (sheet film) cameras to SLR medium format. On many occasions he was required to produce 35mm slide presentations of new and existing equipment which often involved using a slide copier to prepare copies to distribute to other members of the group.

He acquired his first camera around the age of 10 and begun processing and printing his own black and white photographs in a darkroom he built in the attic. Since those early days he has always had a passion for photography and felt more than lucky when he was able to combine his hobby with his job.

Lloyd has since had experience in the art sales market and on the art / photo finishing side, combining framing, mount cutting and heat sealing/canvas bonding.

PASSION
Lloyd’s passion for photography has not faltered since he picked up his first camera, there may have been times in his life when he would like to have done more but is now in the position to give more time to his photography and art.

With the advent of digital photography, computers and programmes such as Adobe Photoshop he found it opened new avenues to express his artistic abilities. For him and countless others the boundaries that separated art from photography are now much closer than they previously were.

Where he would spend hours on end in a darkroom to achieve a certain effect he not uses photo digital manipulation to produce so much more.

Being born and breed in the country he has always felt at one with nature. It is so easy to be unaware of everything that is immediately around us. He tries to portray his love for the countryside in his pictures. In recent years his interest has expanded into people photography. Living amongst the beautiful scenery of the West Country he loves to capture the beauty of a model to complement the beauty of the landscape.
